[After yesterday's events and a night in intensive care along with his pokemon, Raikov's doing much better. If you were to walk past one of the piers, you'd find the Russian sitting on the edge, his knees pulled against his torso, staring silently at the Sharpedo he caught - and the Sharpedo staring back. This goes on for a few minutes before Raikov finally speaks.]
You almost killed me yesterday. You know that, right?
[Technically it was his Joltik that caused him to have to stay outside when she flew off his shoulder. If she hadn't, the giant shark wouldn't have slammed right into him. If he were the same man he was before Big Boss rescued him, he would have left her to fly away with the storm. But since his freedom and him coming here, Raikov found himself becoming sentimental towards people and things. Aside from himself, Katya was the second most important thing to him. She was more than just a pet. She was his partner. If he knew what the Joltik thought of him as, he might have even considered himself her "parent."
Thanks to the stress she endured, Katya was staying in her pokeball for the time being. Raikov figured it'd take her a bit to recover and this allowed him to deal with the Sharpedo on his own.]
I don't even understand how you were able to get picked up by the wind like that. I wasn't and I'm only a little heavier than you.
[The shark pokemon, obviously, says nothing and closes his eyes. Raikov furrows his brow, taking it as a "I don't care" gesture. What a pompous brat. You're one to talk, Raikov.]
Ugh. Well, the storm's over. You can go now. I only caught you because I couldn't move you off me and I wasn't about to let myself die in such an absurd way.
["Local man killed by flying shark! More on that story at 11." How the hell does that even happen?
Raikov grumbles at the thought as the Sharpedo debates on what to do for a moment. Finally, he begins to swim away, glancing back a couple times, and it isn't until he's almost on the horizon that he turns around and charges back towards Raikov. Upon realizing what the pokemon is doing and fear of him jumping out of the water and crushing him again, the Russian screams and scrambles out of the way. Much to his surprise and annoyance, the only thing that happens is a big splash of water that soaks him entirely. Raikov looks up through his wet hair plastered to his face and glares at the shark.]
What the hell was that for?! I told you you could leave!
[The Sharpedo utters a low rumble, looking content with himself. The sound reminds the Major of something he hasn't heard in years and his expression softens. From what little time they've been together, the pokemon's mannerisms, temperament, and even his scars seem very familiar to someone from long ago.
Letting out a sigh, Raikov sits down and drapes his legs over the edge of the pier, watching as the shark nudges his nose against him.]
So you're staying, huh? Oh, fine. I suppose you can come with me.
[If I were crazy, I'd say you were actually him reincarnated as a god damn shark. How ironic would that be? He hated water and it was partially responsible for his...
The Russian lets the thought trail off and gently nudges his snout with his foot to distract himself. The pokemon uttering another low, pleased sound and Raikov finds himself smiling.
Maybe... just... maybe... This place does seem to have a twisted sense of humor...]
Yevgeny... I'll call you Yevgeny.

[Raikov's managed to dry off by the time he decides to post on to the network. He's still sitting at the pier with his newest pokemon though.]
I take back what I said about my luck for good weather in my last post. That was the worst storm I've ever been in - and that's saying something considering the weather conditions in the Motherland. We usually only have rain and snow. Not flying sharks. I'd like to be able to say "now I've seen it all," but I know I've barely even scratched the surface with this place.
[He lets out an exaggerated sigh.]
Moving on though... I'm amazed at how quickly the Pokecenter work with healing humans. The technology they have here is amazing. Obviously far advanced than anything I've ever seen. If I had gotten hurt like this back home, I'd be in the hospital for a few weeks. I'm glad to know if I ever get seriously injured, the Pokecenter will have no problem in fixing me up.
[The Sharpedo props himself on to the pier and rests his massive head between his owner's legs. Raikov leans over, wrapping his arms around the shark's snout and lies his head against it. Yevgeny rumbles contently, causing Raikov to look rather relaxed despite everything.]
Mmn. At least one good thing came out of that bizarre storm. I finally got a water-type.
