[The feed starts but it just appears black aside from a pulsating red light in the upper corner. A groan can be heard and some rustling, followed by a squeak that sounds a lot like a child saying "Jolt!"]

Shit... That hurt...! Why the hell do they have this place open to the public if the floor just randomly gives away! Ugh... Katya? Katya, are you alright?

[Chirp!]

I'll take that as a yes. Nghh.. My back is killing me...

[Finally Raikov's face appears as he grabs his gear and turns on a flashlight. He looks a little worse for wear and despite how panicky he feels, he's trying not to show it. As if finding out Ocelot here wasn't bad enough, now he's injured his back and is stuck in some creepy, dark ruins.]

Has anyone ever inspected the.. er... Ruins of... Alph before? ... I think I might be trapped.

[An odd distorted sound starts playing from his radio and his faux-calmness is now gone. Katya scurries up on to his shoulder and shudders as Raikov glances around, biting his bottom lip]

And I don't think I'm alone....

... Someone help?

I did, a long time ago.

I was trapped in there for a day or two. [ GEE SNAKE. SUCH AMAZING HELP. ] Just try to keep calm.

Raikov? Hey, are you ok? [Otacon had already spoken with another guy who had gotten themselves trapped within a cave here in Johto. Were there a lot of places like this?]

I've never been to the Ruins of Alph, but perhaps I can help guide you out somehow? [He liked helping people via Codec, so why should this be any different?]

[Snake can somehow hear Raikov bristle at the thought.]

[Raikov considered himself more of an acquaintance than a friend but he wasn't about to voice that.]

Is there any way around the thing that's watching you? Can you sneak past it? [If "it" was what it could be called.]

...ah, yes, that does tend to happen in the Ruins of Alph... they really should put up some sort of warning, but I wouldn't say you're in any real danger.

The Unown are a bit unsettling, but they're not particularly difficult to deal with. They have exactly one attack and it's never particularly good, in my experience.

You're not trapped...you just need to solve the puzzles to proceed.

O-oh...They're just low level Pokemon then?

[You haven't looked around the room yet, Raikov. How do you expect to get out of there if you don't explore? But now that he knows what's watching him, he feels a bit more confident to get up and search the area]

[He looks unamused by this.]

--Yeah, we did. Berik remembers it more than I do since he had to help out with a couple, but they weren't really that hard.

Escape... Yeah, that was the only one I had a trouble with at the time. Did you find a hole near the ceiling yet?

[Hole near the ceiling, huh? Katya hops off Raikov's shoulder and off screen. Raikov shines his flashlight around the room and eventually finds said hole.]

Ah- There!

[A soft rumbling sound can be heard in the background as the door opens finally. The Soviet slowly stands, one hand holding the gear and the other against his back, then makes his way towards the exit.]

... What's your name?

It's pretty easy to miss if you don't know it's there. Truth be told Berik was the one who spotted it first and I didn't know what he was chirping at until he jumped on my shoulders and tried to steer me over to it.
